3. The two loading Tipper

The two loading Tipper

It's been a long time since Tipper all his stuff had to divide into two drawers. Tipper remembers those days vividly. It was the time that Uncle Berrie told him that this is the 'Problem of Tipper "(from Small but brave, see bottom of this text) was. Tipper had his stuff over the two drawers in his office divide that he always knew what was in the tray. Tipper had bad are worrying how he would solve. Eventually he was successful, but he decided against it nice not to tell anyone. The solution was useful Tipper, Tipper so himself knew what was in the drawer. That went on nobody's business. Tipper knew that other people now quite (what these great people as well as: human nature!). When he told what solution he had invented, they were firmly lot of those types who were not a solution, something that came up in both the load applied. Tipper was beautiful mouth.

Now Tipper walked in the park and thought about people. There were two kinds of people! The drawers of Tipper Tipper used as a means to all those people look good to share. Oh who does not. Uncle Berrie Tipper had ever told as a child he said that there were people and pencils. Uncle had never told exactly what kind of people 'pencils' actually were, but Tipper had an idea for. He saw pencils walking through the park.

Tipper was at the park today and thought of a very different distribution. There were two kinds of people that he was very clear. Yesterday he visited Uncle Berrie. It was not a nice visit. Uncle was bald and had a great gash on his head. In the hospital they cut open the skull of Uncle. Uncle even told that she first two holes were drilled between holes and then had his skull cut open.

Why? Tipper said. Uncle loved just thinking, you let the doctors do not mess in your brain.

Uncle had explained that a tumor in his brain had been a kind of bump that is not heard and had that look. Uncle said it had been so much so that the bulge at the normal brain had been printed and that he had gone on his stick (with it called a difficult word: seizure), which they had brought him to the hospital. He had been completely gone and he did not even know him by ambulance to the hospital had charged. Uncle that had been lying in hospital Tipper knew it, he had stood at the bedside of Uncle and given him a plastic boat. Uncle had laughed very hard, but said little else. Tipper had seen that they head back to Uncle had sewn. There were all black wires, the center began to cut on the forehead of Uncle and ended shortly before his left ear. It was like an uncle who pirate it had done in ancient battle at sea, in a real battle. Uncle when boarding the enemy a big stroke of a sharp sword over his head had. Uncle had only a black patch on his eye and then having to tie did so in a film Uncle as a pirate leader to play.

Uncle had just cried, tears from his eyes are rolled down his cheeks. Tipper had never seen that one crying uncle.

Tipper walked through the park and put the people in his charge. Tipper, his friends, his masters and teachers, the parents of Tipper, a neighbor and also the black nurse uncle were all in the same drawer. In that drawer was even his grandfather was already 60. In the other drawer Uncle Sat. Tipper tried to think who else in the drawer at Uncle Sat It was not easy. Tipper could only think of one. That was the famous man from the roof of the Hilton hotel was jumped. The man who had a name like a roll, oh yeah Herman Brood. Bread who was himself from the roof of the hotel jumped. So when the man with elevator or stairs at the hotel had gone up, he knew he would be dead very soon. At that moment, Tipper him in the drawer stop at Uncle.

Tipper runs through the park, Uncle told what he heard. Monday, July 23 Uncle has the surgeon cut into his skull, and that lump is removed, heard it's a tumor that is malignant. So hot. The doctor said that it is very nasty Uncle cells in his brain down. The doctor told him that he was between 6 months and 2 years to live. Uncle has told it to Tipper and then immediately called Uncle relentlessly: PATS. A bubble from collapse.

Uncle does not have long to live, that is certain, the doctor said. Thus, the Uncle explained to Tipper. Until Uncle spoke with the doctor, the idea that he was Uncle sixty or seventy or eighty years could be. Uncle wanted to be very old or that he did not know. Uncle could just imagine what he would do if he was sixty. What he would like to live? Uncle had just bought a house in France and that fantasized a lot about Uncle. How it should be, what he wanted to do after all. Or Uncle Tipper sometimes would see?

Tipper was that myself, Uncle said. He could just imagine what he was about 10 or 20 or 40 years would do. Try it, Uncle said. Imagine you're 40, what do you think you're doing? Tipper stared at the big gash in the skull and Uncle said he all those years in the hospital wanted to be. Meanwhile, the saber saw Tipper in the skull of Uncle stabbing, as if the enemy did not come out to draw. Uncle nodded and said that the hospital was not fun, that he sometimes half the night wandering through the hospital had run because he could not sleep. Fortunately it was a nice hospital, the AMC in Amsterdam, with lots of art on the walls (which at night sometimes looked more beautiful than during the day) and very high ceilings, corridors with translucent, so you could see the sky.

Uncle was now of another kind, uncle could hear the people who know they will not live long.

Uncle said you obviously never quite sure. Tipper was driving home with his parents and he was unlucky, he was a car accident. That was quite true. That could be anyone with a car on the road went. Whether Tipper now or in the car now that Uncle was in that car, it did not matter. What Uncle could not, was fantasizing about what life would be over 10 years now and so was Uncle of another kind. Uncle could hear the short living who are sure they soon will live. That other kind was the long living who do not know for certain that they will live long, but still can fantasize about. That was the difference between the two species and Uncle said it was a very big difference. Tipper secretly thought that he was glad he had a long-lived, it seemed nothing to know that so soon would be over.

Tipper walked through the park and looked from one tray to another. The tray of Uncle was not very full, who heard it more in that drawer? Uncle told that there were many people who had a bad tumor in the brains but also in other parts of the body. Tipper is understood that all those people who were told the doctor that she is only a few years could live, that people loved Uncle companionship.

Tipper knew the people. Tipper thought of visiting his grandmother in the nursing home (Tipper called it Omahuis) one year ago. He thought of the man and woman at the table at Grandma sat drinking coffee. The man looked very bad and he could not hold his head. Outside Tipper said the man had very quickly die. Tipper thought of next week. Grandma really did not like. Did the man at the table at Grandma's now the drawer Uncle? Tipper thought so. He would even ask Uncle.

From small but brave (Damon 1996), page 93:

The problem of Tipper

Tipper has to clean up.

Tipper has already displayed his stuff on his bed.

They are a lot of stuff.

There is a rubber ball, a multicolored lace, an empty metal cigar n hulsje of Uncle Ben, a opwindpoppetje of a Happy Meal for Mac, a key chain containing a picture of Tipper and his brother, a plastic orange, a golden fountain pen, a whole fonkerende beautiful stone, two dried chestnuts (Aunt Martha received from Curaçao), a fake pyramid (the neighbor received from Egypt). And that's not all. The items must all be stopped in two drawers.

Tipper wants all his stuff on the two trays share, but how?

Tipper first thought: in one, he stops the things he received in the tray the other things he has found himself. But some things do not Tipper where they come from. Tipper then had another idea: in one tray and the things that can roll into the tray the other stuff that can not roll. But some things it is not clear whether or not to roll. Tipper and if something looks, he has to look in both trays, because he has forgotten whether or not rolling.

No it should be very clear, so that Tipper instantly know which is the tray. That is the problem of Tipper.
