Denny was diagnosed in May 2008 with a still not fully operable brain tumor glioblastoma grade IV after Denny early as February 2008 but had a seizure, the doctors were not seen as a sign of a brain tumor. With a so-called awake surgery was in June 2008 as much as possible tumor removed but there was still an edge tumor tissue. Denny was irradiated and received Temodal prescribed but it soon appeared that the growth of tumor tissue is not suppressed. There was tumor growth again in the fall of 2008. The parents look for other opportunities and the good experiences of fellow townsman Teun van Vliet with Dr. Gorter in the Medical Center Cologne are Denny and his parents went to Cologne for a second opinion and are there early in December 2008 with the treatments dendritic cell and hyperthermia started. With Temodal, they stopped. And in the course of 2009, Denny was also benefit from this approach. Now in January 2010 for the third consecutive time recorded by a scan made in the Netherlands that he no longer has a tumor in his head, and therefore clinical cancer and has achieved a total remission. Denny's car crosses his passion and his life in February 2008 but seems an abrupt end to it one morning when he could no longer stand by an epileptic seizure.
Mother says: On February 9, we knew that with Denny because something was going on in the morning he was not awake. The consequence of an epileptic seizure that he had received. Ambulance been. He was admitted to hospital in Breda. There she noticed that he had no brain, no meningitis, but just a viral infection.

Denny grabs the car crosses it again, but that the hospital misdiagnosis noted with "just a viral disease" appears three months later, as Denny a car accident caused by another seizure. Now, a tumor the size of a golf ball in his head discovered.
Mother says:

Denny says:

Denny says:

In Tilburg, the doctors make Denny to be irradiated after surgery and after chemotherapy in the form of Temodal. Denny, however, gets told that he probably never will get better.
Mother says:
He had 33 radiation treatments and chemotherapy 45 days. And they would see later on how it would run an MRI.
Denny says Rutte told me then that I would live one maybe two years and it still would have done.
Mother says, but there is also later told that if the radiation at the Temodal not he would hit at most two months to one year would have to go.

Denny and his parents are not among them lay down and ask a second opinion in Leuven for dendritic cell therapy and may also go for a consultation to Dr. Gorter in the Medical Center Cologne. In Leuven, they say they can do nothing for Denny but Dr. Gorter still sees opportunities.
Mother says:
We do not settle for names and have heard of us through a family Teun van Vliet was pending in Cologne at Dr. Gorter and that the outlook went very smoothly. So when we contacted with Teun van Vliet and his girlfriend Anita and they have all told us how the way things went and stuff. Anita has also Denny first appointment in October. His advice was that Denny first treatment with radiation and chemotherapy had to do and that he has done and December 9, we went with him into treatment.

In the Medical Center Cologne Denny gets the first three months twice a week, local electro-hyperthermia on the head with additional infusions of immune stimulant and a once a month dendritic cells. It is this combination explains the success according to Dr. Gorter.
Robert Gorter says:
Our public secret is that we make a combination of vaccination with dendritic cells, and I think the way we make them, they are also very fit, we can also measure and a form of hyperthermia and if possible a fever treatment on the day of vaccination with dendritic cells and what we do in the infusion. We always immune restoration. We seek the immune system but also the function of killer cells and other immune functions, eg also to improve the thymus and the thymus. And I believe it is this approach a number of things that everyone working for him that we combine. Because I think that hyperthermia itself: no one doubts that it works. Dendritic cells, I think nobody doubts that that work. But if I then put together one plus one plus one not two but four to one, so to speak. Denny experience the treatments in Cologne as a relief and he also notes rapid improvement.
Denny says:
When I was with Robert Gorter came the first time when I felt a difference, because after that I felt really irradiation cave, so miserable I've never felt nie. The first time I got there made the difference. And the second time I got there it made a difference and when I was at one point that dendritic cells got when I got into the car and drove home and after one hour I was already aware. I began to shake and yes flu symptoms. Well the night shivering in my bed and also at 8 o'clock in the morning I woke up again and I had the energy I had missed two years actually. When I say all hope in it.

Because the family Verberk also wanted to continue treatment and control of Dutch doctors have tried to open up a collaboration to come but they face a lot of resistance while the Dutch doctors.
Mother says:
We have from the outset with the doctors discussed that we wanted to go to Cologne with Denny for dendritic cells and hyperthermia and some did not even know what we were talking about. We still have all documentation submitted in person or creature to give it yet, but there were totally agree that we were going.
Father says:
He was even portrayed as a trickster. Leg and Doctor Returns the oncologist who told me even if you do not have to go there. So if you want to stay Netherlands still under control then you'll need a double play.

You have a child there fighting for you and you have to make choices.
We thought it was really terrible because Dr. Gorter himself would like to have worked with the Dutch doctors. Actually have to do everything in consultation but they would totally work with.

It goes well with Denny an MRI scan confirms early June 2009. The oncologist Denny does not even have to come back.
Mother says: June 6 last, we went to the neurologist and was at the oncologist. When the oncologist we do not have to come back because it all looked out smoothly. So that's an omen that things move forward.
Robert Gorter says:
Denny Look here, we now scan your last, one week old in June 2009 and of course that you know. Here you had surgery, debulking is done that is possible tumor removed. But you're here ten months under treatment and only when you came to us was all white and full-tumor activity and you were on Temodal and dexamethasone to suppress the edema. So when we decided to stop and instead to dendritic cells and local hyperthermia, and we see in the scans that it gradually gets better. Tumor activity that is less and less real, less edema. You have no dexamethasone taken ten months and we also see no more edema and more, are a very small edge edema, and maybe a little activity, and this edge but a point compared to scans of 10, 11 months ago I would say 80 to 90% of everything is destroyed. This is clear progress, a high remission but not complete remission. But we see in our patients that we see so than a few months later in a complete remission.
Mother says:
Well he is certainly back on the right track to go. Denny his interest in the sport coming back again and again he has future plans for next year, next year he returned back into the sport wants to go, so that's only positive.
Denny says:
I just feel good, so when I am tired I sometimes a bit of my voice and I must rest my suits. At first I had difficulty with it but can do well.

Dr. Gorter's prediction in June that a subsequent scan will probably show a total remission is true in October 2009.
Robert Gorter says:
This is a kind of ventricle, a sort of pond with cerebrospinal fluid that was completely suppressed, crushed and look now the form completely normal. All we see here that is here but is absolutely nothing indicating tumor activity but does or more like a scar that is becoming
Denny says: yes scar tissue
Robert Gorter: Yes, because if it is cancerous scar tissue would be, if that would be active that would not look like so it's quite likely that this means that there are no more cancer. But to finally be sure to say three months we have a scan. If so then we could say it's definitely true that you are in complete remission

Looks like all fine for Denny. In December, a new scan and Denny gets his new again until February dendritic cells.
Mother says:
Denny, the last time in August dendritic cells, and since then they have been told that he is an extension phase of the dendritic cells so he gets half years in February dendritic cells. Meanwhile he gets a few more times hyperthermia and wait for the scan in December and January we hear what the results further with it but the prospects are just very good.

The Dutch doctors believe that healing is the result of Denny, but Denny Temodal has never used. He did this every month but have kept the boxes Temodal home in the refrigerator in the basement.
Father says:
The Netherlands is known as very good and stability of a say but no activity of cancer anyway. The oncologist who was very positive, but blames it on the chemo actually happen in reality and say that he does not use Temodal say.
Mother says:
This is the Denny Temodal that normally should have taken since January 2009. Only during the chemo and radiation in 2008, he has used since January 2009 Temodal not.
