Basics Houtsmuller Diet

Available in any bookstore and library's cookbook Dr. Houtsmuller published by Bohn Stafleu van Loghum. See page cancers and books for more books on cancer and nutrition.
The recipes are based on the principles of Dr. Houtsmuller incl.dat cookbook as varied as possible, we try to fill. With seasonal vegetables where possible we use, although in modern times throughout the year most fruits and vegetables to get.
In the recipes we use in principle, no sugar. Where it is mentioned we recommend oersuiker (available in health food stores) or even better honey.
The recipes are basically without (red) meat, except liver, according Houtsmuller be important nutrients. Similarly, there is sometimes a recipe from chicken. And of course many recipes with fish, especially oily fish, but sometimes whitefish. For salt we mainly use Japanese soy sauce, Tamari or Shoyu. Tamari is what saltier and more expensive.

Fry in olive oil!

We mainly do bake in olive oil (high oleic acid reason), but sesame oil and soybean oil are also good. Sunflower oil is not.

Doctor Bolhuis we received the following advice on baking with olive oil: Baking is unhealthy. The fewer the better. If you do so then preferably in an oil that resists heat. Olive oil (and sesame oil) is resistant to heat. Please do not like extra virgin (cold pressed) olive oil. Doctor sent me this, explaining Bolhuis dated 27 / 8 2001: Meanwhile, I recommend for baking, use extra virgin. This extra virgin contains more cancer-inhibiting substances.
This is expensive - although Aldi is a very affordable and consumer as extra virgin olive oil is best qualified - for frying and is less resistant to heat.
Self if I bake it always a combination of olive oil with a
tiny bit of butter. That is better for the taste itself is
butter resistant to heat and when it is hotter than 100 degrees C. it starts to sputter. If this happens turn the heat and avoid getting the oil to very hot. If oil goes smoke was quickly from 200 to 300 degrees and that is really not good.

All other oils would rather not use it to heat. Particularly
polyunsaturated fats are rancid quickly if you heat them and then created trans fats, these trans fats are carcinogenic and extremely bad for your arteries.

More info on this subject can be found in the book by Udo Erasmus: Vital fats, greases fatal. Highly recommended.

Whether your products in health food stores or at the ordinary supermarket buy is not important for preparing the dishes. Oi it's better your fruits and vegetables in the food store to buy, but that's what we buy more expensive and mainly in the regular supermarket and sometimes in the nature store.
We mainly provide recipes for the 'dinner' but also mention tips for bread, snacks, beverages and desserts. Some recipes state how many people mentioned, but you can always adjust the quantities to suit your needs.
In the book of Houtsmuller remains that there may be cooked in a microwave. This is outdated. Cooking in a microwave is not done for cancer patients.
