May 6, 2010: Dirk quietly to sleep tonight so let me know this morning Mildred. Unfortunately, Dirk is not saved in the first place despite a wonderful recovery. A recurrence is not expected to cost him his life unfortunately
Dear Mildred and family of Dirk concoleer I take this with you the loss of Dirk. I've met a great guy with a great sense of humor. And an example for many people with a brain that partly because you fight and openness in sharing your experiences at least lengthen their life and perhaps preserved. Dirk which ultimately failed.

Updated December 21, 2009: Dirk van den Boogaard was in October 2007 he told an inoperable
brain tumor had a glioblastoma multiforme grade IV . Dirk could have palliative radiotherapy and chemotherapy have - Temodal but that was it. As
Teun van Vliet , a fellow villager had good results with a treatment with
hyperthermia and dendritic cell therapy in
the Medical Center Cologne are Dirk and his wife Mildred, also went there. Summer 2009 went very well with Dirk. Dirk seemed to clinical cancer. But now a new scan has shown yet again that there is a recurrence or whether it has not been completely gone. Dirk has in recent months had no further treatment but today 21 December that a scan showed there is still something. Dirk said his treatment in Cologne will pick up again because up until now been very successful. Furthermore, the Erasmus Medical Center presented him with a Phase II study to join with Avastin and chemo. But more about Dirk and Mildred would take some thought.
July 21, 2009:
Dirk called me last night and told me happy that a scan at the Erasmus Medical Center once again confirmed that the cancer seems to have disappeared. He can now actually say he has come to a total remission and clinical cancer because two successive scans show that there is no longer present tumorweefsael. Dirk told me that finally accompanying oncologist Professor van der Have overtly happy here and had to admit that this is very very special. I can add that last week a young man (29 years) with a brain tumor glioblastoma multiforme grade IV tumor has been almost got away with only hyperthermia and dendritic cell therapy . This man was by Dirk and Teun van Vliet also to Dr. Gorter in the Medical Center Cologne arrived and it goes very well with him. He is now more than half year under treatment in Cologne and is gradually getting better.
