Hemmie dies after a long struggle against non-small-cell lung cancer with targeted mostly complementary approaches. Unfortunately, after 5 years anyway Hemmie deceased. Emma his daughter writes a final farewell to Hemmie his story.
Emma, the daughter of Hemmie we received the sad news that Hemmie August 19, 2009 is deceased. I have personally known and often Hemmie contact with him. He has fought so long for this cancer under control and often with success. But after a large dose of DCA in his very serious side effects (heart problems and nerve pain) and he then also had to irradiate it never worked out. Slowly but surely won the cancer of the Hemmie itself. Unfortunately. Emma writes a final message about her father in his story.
July 2009
I (Hemmie's daughter) come back from vacation on July 24. The next day I go to a good visiting my father, but what I see is different than I had hoped. A small heap of humanity in a big bed too little air to really talk. We cry, Dad and I both. I lie in his arms and feel his strength.
That night he was admitted to the hospital, that was his home last evening. After a few days in hospital to have been dad decides to go to the Hospice. It's a nice place and the summer weather also makes those around him for that difficult time not too difficult.
Dad has two weeks in the hospice area. The first week he snapped quietly really well on several medications and also increased his appetite seemed to go better. What medications can be tricky.
The following week is the heap of humanity reappear. A heap of humanity with a very powerful spirit. A mind that we not only want to have a spirit that all the tops of mountains to climb, but alas. The body appears to be stronger than the mind.
Hemmie dies on August 19, 2009.
