A scan showed no cancer in February 2009 anymore. So after two years clinical cancer. But in the summer of 2009 came yet another relapse. Again following treatments with Dr. Vogl and again is Mr. W. Now in December 2009 at least that gives a clean scan from last week .. A wonderful story of people who have the courage not to give up and go looking and searching.

Here the story that the letter sent our family. We address any comments:

dated December 21, 2009: Since last summer there is yet another relapse occurred and W. his lymph nodes were not clean, he again started treatment with Dr. Vogl. And with this success because his wife wrote us today:
Last Friday, we are for the fifth time Vogl been another TACE treatment . Assuming there in January another would follow the cancer cells in the lymph nodes to get away we went with little expectations that way. The stomach was already clean, so we were definitely back in the right direction. To our surprise, however, we were told that nothing is visible on the scans.
So, Mr. W. for the second clinical cancer after five TACE treatments in combination with Xeloda.
Now we take a light dose of Xeloda try to control it and hope it stays away for longer than half year.

Dear Editor,
May we send you our story for the site, this one to fellow patients heartened to stabbing in the hope that the courage not to give up easily.
It is now exactly two years since my husband (42 years) was told he had stomach cancer. At first it seemed we would be operable, and then again to our family as levens.Wij went all the way from here too.
However, during surgery on March 23, 2007 were still found in lymph nodes metastases on the peritoneum and on the outside of the pancreas. The message was clear, nothing we can do for you. Chemotherapy only in the hope to prolong life.

After a speedy recovery of the failed operation could soon start with chemotherapy. End of 2007 was still a possibility. Because my husband without significant side effects of nine heavy chemotherapy survived and is still in good condition wanted the option of a one-HIPEC discuss surgery. However, this option was quickly brushed aside because it has not previously been conducted in gastric cancer surgeon and this also does not dare.
The message was, to stop chemotherapy and to wait and see what would happen. At that time the situation appeared stable.
But wait, we found that `s not a good idea and we continue to search. This was good because after one month of doing nothing were the biomarkers already significantly rise.
After a number of recommendations have figured out we went to Dr.. Vogl, Frankfurt ended. After some mail contact, he invited us to scans made and look to see if he could do something for us. He called the situation is complex, but wanted the challenge of entering it. We were however noted that he was my husband could not be better, but, hopefully, take extra time would give the TACE treatment. Since then we have seven more treatments, it is November 2008. At that point we were told that there is almost no cancer cells were visible on the scans. Another treatment being followed and in December a stomach scan and a survey (the Netherlands) from which the tumor has disappeared, and encapsulated tumors.
Now, three months later, again on the scans found no cancer cells. The biomarkers are similar to those of the values in December. All in all an encouraging development with a back view of a future. What and how it will go that nobody knows, but between "do nothing" and "now cancer free" is a huge difference.
