CALL TO ALL VISITORS AND Readers OF THE NEWSLETTER

As Directors of the Foundation for Health News, operator of the site -www.kanker actueel.nl we are at this time as management problems facing the following:

For some time we find that the growth of our website is beyond all expectations. For an example at the end of 2009 we had in the statistical data of our provider monthly visits to our site from about 40,000. This number of visits has constantly increased in recent months and is around 130,000 visits.

And as it seems now it remains constantly growing.

On the one hand a very good development because the site clearly meets a need. On the other hand, there lurks exactly the problem: despite the increasing numbers of visitors, increasing our income is not proportionate. For while an organization like KWF apparently without much effort collects millions together, we succeed in no small part to an annual amount of such recruitment. And that's painful. Because only so many great efforts and work to the massive demand for information.

Was it for some years an engagement of a small number of volunteers to keep the site running, now is the time that we - if we believe in continuity - caring for an extension of the office function.

This is where we people our webmaster Kees Braam be supporting his many activities associated with managing the site.

If you are interested in one of these functions, or if you think you know people in your circle who has such a feature might want to consider, please let us know.

We are of course willing to give the necessary explanations.

Why does cancer-current your financial aid?

If you want to support us you can do so through a donation anonymous or not. Any amount is welcome no matter how small. We questions as with so many initiatives also sponsors and financial support for maintaining this site. Personally I find it difficult to ask for money and assistance to help people who are struggling with a life-threatening disease. I have also experienced. I always feel such a beggar, also bound. But we notice the last years to keep this site current and interesting and that that a lot of time and therefore costs money. A website such as cancer-up-to-date tracking is now volunteering outgrown. I spent my time on daily full time cancer-current. Others still do this voluntarily. At this time, december 2011, there will be about 7,000 unique visitors on average per day and each month more than a million articles clicked. There are many daily e-mails and sometimes phone calls to answer. I am therefore grateful for the assistance, both financial and content, which I've gotten a few people in recent years as webmaster of. They did and do this perfectly disinterested. So was and I am not only for.

But we want to further. Keep the site up-to-date and improve navigation so that you as a visitor to your information even easier. And if it can also agree doctors, invite experts to write an article for the site, for you as a visitor, whether or not cancer patient etc. Aid paid, preferably, also for me as a webmaster. And we have established in 2000 the Foundation ' Health News '. Foundation(see target)

For achieving our objectives and the continue of this site we ask so your financial support. You can donate online by here or on the IDEAL image at the bottom of the bar.  Anyone can there, whether or not anonymous, donate an arbitrary amount. Every contribution, no matter how small, is welcome.

We use all money for the keep up-to-date of the site and the direct contact with our visitors. Such as, the partial payment of the work of the webmaster. The present at conferences, lectures etc. in within-and sometimes also abroad dealing with current developments and information for cancer patients and/or doctors and nurses. And also informing the political and media or participate in discussions on the internet.

So all your money comes directly and indirectly benefit the people who struggle with cancer and every euro helps to maintain this site.
