TACE = trans Arterial Chemo Embolisation against systemic chemo gives longer survival time for patients with colorectal metastases in the liver. TACE with systemic chemotherapy 5-fluorouracil (5-FU), gives even longer survival. Risk of recurrence reduced with combination therapy and 10% versus 60% with chemotherapy alone.
