By this treatment, I saw more than the previous two courses, this was largely motivated by the fear resulting from the intensive care period and its aftermath. This is the only time in 'my struggle' have been times when I seriously doubted whether I wanted to continue the treatment. I also had a conversation with the doctors requested and told I was really scared for a new chemotherapy treatment and its effect on my strength (another pneumonia could occur). The doctors could not guarantee me obviously, they have stressed that where possible it would be even more alert. In addition, they told me that although the disease was no longer detectable (this based on various beenmergpuncties) it would be very unwise to stop. The risk of recurrence (revival of leukemia) was very high. They gave me convinced of the need to continue. Cure the disease three was intended to keep calm and to work towards an autologous stem cell transplantation (stem cells taken from the patient). The cure all went relatively smoothly without any significant serious side effects. After this treatment was followed by a period of two weeks at home.
